Subject: With the up-coming election around the corner

Just out of curiosity.... How does a person that is already involved in politics make a final decision on who gets your vote?

Do you vote for someone just because they are your friends?

Are all the people that run this board democrats?

Does it bother you that Ms. Garry never took the time to answer some of the questions I put forward, for her and Mr. Myers to answer? I know that some of my concerns weren't on a state level. At least I took the time to throw some questions out there!

What is your outlook for the election? Who do you think is going to win the seat of State Rep?

What are your thoughts about the next election for President? Are you happy with Mr. Bush? Or are you welcoming Kerry with open arms?

Tonight's hosts are Jack DiTillio and Shawn Ashe. The guest is Donna Yackel, who will discuss Old Home Day, scheduled for September 11, and the HS Football tailgate parties. At this point, there may or may not be another guest. If not, Jack, Shawn, and Donna will have a gab-fest.

What are the chances the local access channel can run both episodes of Weekly Roundtable, and Inside Dracut Politics a couple times a week till the Primary election next month? How about the Tyngsboro local access station? I think it would a shame if a fair number of people don’t bother voting in this election because they didn’t really know anything about the candidates in this race.

Does anybody know when the televised debates are scheduled to take place for the State Representative race? Is the Weekly Roundtable planning to sponsor any of these debates?

I’ve been unable to get to my computer for the last several days so I apologize for my tardiness in responding.

To Shawn: The weeklong Focus segments are 8 minutes each. They air twice a morning. (On Lowell Sunrise 91.5FM WUML "Quality Public Radio For The Merrimack Valley.")
Tony Accardi’s weeklong Focus segments with State Representative Colleen Garry have aired all week, (Aug. 16 to 20.) The Focus segment, which is solely conducted by Tony Accardi, airs everyday at 6:40 a.m. and then again sometime between 8 and 9 a.m. (We try to air the encore at 8:40 but that doesn't always work out.)
Tony Accardi will have a five-part interview Democratic challenger Barry Myers for next week's Focus segments. Same time.
No tapes are available. (We don't use tape.)

To Dennis Williams; I know, I know. I chastised (in a friendly way,) WRT for not having a steel-caged death match and then I posted that Lowell Sunrise would be doing the same thing. Let the word go forth from this time and place that I am not the program director. That's Tony Accardi's job. I am merely a meek and lowly member of the staff. A servant if you will. Take it up with Tony. He might have a better explanation as to why there will not be a face-to-face on the radio.

And speaking of Tony, there was a certain "Tony" who posted a message on Tuesday, August 17 at 6:22:58 and implied that I am “with” Barry Myers. How did you come to that conclusion?

We are trying for Thursday, August 26th. Both candidates on the same night, but separate interviews. One for the first half hour, the other for the second, the order of which to be determined by coin flip just prior to the start of the show.

I have some questions for you....

What your thoughts about the following:

death penalty.
abortions.
being pulled over for NOT wearing a seat belt.
school bussing fees.
no more bussing to private schools.
plea bargaining.
castrating child molesters and rapist.
putting a stop to any more developments in Dracut.
more options for low income people to become homeowners.
when are the plans for the police station going to come to life.
making the DHA more efficient and pleasant.
smoking ban.
child participating in sports.
teen center.

Looking forward to your responses....

Contrary to popular belief, I do not have a split personality. Or at least I didn't think so until I saw the show this week.
So I say to my friends out there, you can call me Donna Yackel. To my enemies, please refer to me as Dottie Yankel. BTW, I am proud to be a member of the WRT co-host family.

Join us this week as we introduce our new Producer Extraordinaire, Karen Merrill Desrosiers. Our guests will be Selectman Jim O'Loughlin to talk about the kickoff of the Summer Concert Series. Jim Campanini of the Lowell Sun will also join us to talk about the smoking ban -- and other things, I'm sure.

See you then.
