You can require email addresses but can you make sure they are real?

What could be done, but I'm not sure if it can be done on voy.com, is to require a registration of some sort for which a "key" must be sent to you via a real email address. You then click on the link to verify your registration. Hence, if you put in a "fake" email address, you never get the key and you never get a registration.

If Dracut wanted a REAL message board (as they seemed to be experimenting with a while back), then ANYONE who wanted to post would be registered with a real email address, even if it's a free hotmail or yahoo address. You could read the messages without a registration (known in Internet parlance as "lurking"), but no valid registration, no posts.

I don't think Dracut is really serious about this stuff at this time and that's probably appropriate, given the $$ situation.

These "free" voy boards are toys. They are fun to play with, but the discourse they contain is skewed. It's like reading a serious novel only to find that Chapter 4 is a 2 year old's crayon scribble.
