Nice work Shawn.
Isn't it amazing how simple getting at the truth can be when your agenda is just fact finding.
I am certain that Shawn spent a fair amount of time doing this research and I appreciate the effort. Quite frankly there are to few Shawns in the world and way to many Franks and Rogers.
Just a few additional facts from my part that will furthur clear the situation.
I served the town for 28 years, and for at least 23 of then I was eligible for the towns heath insurance benefit.
I did not take advantage of the benefit until my last term, meaning I passed up the benefit for at least 22 years. A value of around $100,000.
Why?
The simple truth is that I never wanted this group or those like them to be able to say that I was doing the job (selectman), or that I was staying as long as I did for the health insurance benefits.
In my last term I was informed that I had earned the retirement benefits of the town because of my length of service, so why not?
Here is the part that bothers me.
Daigle and his jock cady Frank pretend to be citizen activists looking out for John Q. They are not.
If Daigle is so concerned about my retirement benefits why is it that we hear nothing about his friends at the water district? At least two of the commissioners he has been friendly with have been on the districts health plan in the past and he has said and done nothing! His closest friend on the board currently pays into county retirement.
You only pay in for one reason, to be eligible.
At least one retired elected official is on the district plan and probably many more.
So whats his problem?
Although he regularly complains about the politics in Dracut and says that Dracut politicians have no integrity,it is he that operates on the edge of the truth .
The officials he points an accusing finger at are in my opinion , much more truthful and honest than he is .
So Shawn, we need more like you , I hope to see you take an active role in town government some day.
