That was an exciting meeting and I'm glad over 600 people attended. All town meetings should be like that. Concerning the budget issue, I was waiting for an amendment from the school committee to be given to the moderator asking for more money but it never happenened. They would have had a better chance of success with that than having people vote against the Town Manager's budget which would have required a whole new budget to be completed. Also, as someone mentioned, that vote could have been reconsidered at the end of the meeting but there was no attempt from the school side. With four children in schools, I hate to see cuts in the system but there is only so much a town can afford. I think its time we get some increased funding from the State. They say education is their priority but we have had enough of UNFUNDED mandates from them. Thats where the school committee's efforts should now be targeted..........
