You misunderstand. Greatly.

I'm not looking for the government (or for me) to squelch anything. The question is, What rules am I willing to play along with? Just me. Myself. I used to have a boss in public accounting who warned about getting involved in a "TEGWAR" (The Exciting Game Without Any Rules.) For me, no TEGWAR, please.

I do think I understand the internet and its evolution. I worked with DARPA when I was in the Air Force (DARPA funded the internet) and I was the CFO at a systems development company in the 1980s that used the internet *loooong* before any browsers were available.

One last thing. You made reference to The Enquirer. The Enquirer has been sued, successfully and for large amounts of money on several occasions for maliciously lying about people. That's what we want -- accountability. Not suppression. People can say whatever they want, but they should be accountable -- instead of hiding under a cyber rock as some (local pundits) do.

End: My little rant.
