Hello,

As a parent of children in the Dracut public school system, can anyone offer an opinion as to why we have an excessive amount of students attending private and parochial schools? If the figure of >17% of Dracut’s children attending a non-public educational institution versus approximately a 10% statewide average is accurate, than do these figures translate into a lack of confidence with the Dracut public school system? If you compare our districts private/parochial population versus our neighbors (Tyngsboro, Methuen, Lowell and Chelmsford), than Dracut still is above average in non-district students. I’m curious to hear other individual’s thoughts on this contrasting gap from the statewide average. Thank you
