Dear Karen,

Someone commented to me about your posting so I wanted to make sure that the right information was out there. I'm sure that you just missed it at the end of the radio ad regarding taxes because I'm sure that you wouldn't want to mislead anyone. The radio advertising is in no way, shape or form paid for by the Legislature or endorsed by the Legislature. I believe that it says at the end that it is paid for by AFSCME which is a public employee union. It would be their own union money paying for the radio ad not public funds! To be honest, I believe it is a waste of their money as I believe there continues to be no appetite in the Legislature to raise taxes!

I would like to add that the members of the Legislature have, in fact, cut our own legislative budgets and in particular, members have refused approximately fifteen hundred dollars in their individual pay last year and refused a thirty five hundred dollar pay raise that was set by Gov. Romney in January.

I hope that clarifies some information for you and other readers. I would be glad to answer anyone's questions or concerns in person or on the telephone. I do like to know who I'm speaking with so please contact my district office at (978) 957-8139 with your full name and I will be happy to discuss this or any other issue with you.

Colleen
