I don't know if you remember Stephanie from the boards but, she tried very hard for many months to get one going. There are legalities, copyrights, numerous tax inclusions and exclusions, insurance, liabilities and so many other issues. We don't have the backing from the town. We DO have a budget for a playground (hidden in the books), which I would be very happy to discuss with you. The only thing is, it would involve only a playground IN THIS PART OF TOWN and nothing more.

Dracut is lawsuit central. There are rumors of yet another one in the works. To have a public pool, you need liability insurance for all those that have the name, SUE. It is very expensive. This is why you see private homes filling pools in with cement. Everyone is so afraid of being liable for someone else's error or simply human error.

A community center would also require, by law, people in charge with the accreditations to take care of such a thing. We are talking pay here--and if Mr. Woods is getting hell for his pay, imagine you bringing up hiring a community center counselor, onsite coordinator, and police details during times when the amount of people exceeds the legal limit (used to be 75 in Lowell)! Hoon DOGGIE!

I just saw my greatest fear mentioned--A NEW TOWN HALL! ARGH!!!! *Holds up cross and grabs garlic* Please guys--We haven't been hit with the full cost of the other two projects yet. My insurance increased by $200, and that is just from the evaluation. No town hall mentions, atleast for now, please. ;)
