We're all one up on Adi Da - and in fact HE OWES ME A GODDAMN APOLOGY, asshole.
Anyway, yes Art, I experience exactly the same "forgetting". This is partially because (as I see it) we're so glued to the present, and there's so much to cope with there, that we haven't space or time to be remembering things all the time (even memories and planning, past and future arise in the present). But more specifically, I think it just goes with the territory of dropping out of the mind and more into the body; dropping out of the illusion that the mind is in control. Once we get that our minds are not in control, there's not so much need to "grasp" there.
I'm not saying this as well as I'd like to.
AND for me I'm seeing this huge discrepancy in speed between my body and mind - my body is slow, my mind is lightning-quick. When totally identified with the mind, I used to speed all over the place, totally overriding the needs of my body. AND, YES - a lot of mind stuff, mind remembering was all about the desparate attempt to keep in place a "good persona" - that of being a good, efficient, tidy, thoughtful, considerate etc. person. But now we KNOW WHO WE ARE, this is no longer necessary. And I'm currently spending a lot of time catching up on being the nasty, inconsiderate person I really am (!). Not that I'm that either - but just that the books need balancing.
HUGE LOVE to you both,
Gill XX
