Subject: What if the Score really IS "love-all"?

Sometimes I have been awestruck at the passion and the eloquence of this exchange. Sometimes I have been dumbstruck at how the 'content' of the vigorous debate looks so very much to me like a question of who REALLY owns the truths being spoken in very like the same terms.

But just now it struck me that, for all I know, 'Zero' is a dear friend of mine to whom I've said very little about this Work, whose curiosity is nonetheless piqued. If I imagine my friend finding practitioners at such pains to defend WD's uniqueness and superiority over all other articulations of the same Truth... Well, I feel REALLY sad.

And then I realize that it doesn't MATTER 'who' Zero 'is.' (S)/He is myself, making my approach a year and a half ago; s/he is my dear friend who came with a similar story and has been suffering trying to find his 'place' with us ever since; s/he IS my dear friend, whether or not the particular person who prompted these musings, and my sorrow on his behalf.

Enthusiastic debate is fun; playing hard is exhilarating. Becoming so lost in our play that 'winning is the only thing' is WAY NOT fun. We don't REALLY want to be playing "Whose side are you on?"-- DO we? (To switch game metaphors in mid-post.) After last September, I personally cannot BEAR the drawing of lines between 'us' and 'them.' Not silently, anyway.
