What seems to me to be the trickiest recognition of the lot in the practice of Being Awake is that practice is forever: there is no summary experience or insight that absolves me of engagement in 'the love, investigation, and expression of Being.'-- speaking as a relative newcomer, and one pretty much bereft of spectacular experiences, and only for myself.

~Hi Kate,
That's very true for me also, and also a relative newcomer, no dramatic temporary expansions of consciousness; so far samadhi city has left town; Here Is, merely, just this wonderful agony of Onlyness, This fusion. And, having been trained to look on the bright side, it's a little weird at first that This seamless expression of Being, this "lemon of a realization", this "bodhisattva curse", not just includes, but is fused with, all that is, which includes all that is down - you cannot pull away in any way from your own suffering which is experienced even more painfully, but you also cannot pull away from the suffering of others, you literally experience that suffering as your own. This Is Your own. Which is why my antennae wiggle whenever I hear someone saying how wonderful it all is (true) but never complaining about - and, especially - steam can shoot out of my ears - admonishing anyone to stop complaing about: (also true) how awful it is to be human. You even get to experience that Being, which arises "in" the "conscious principle" and, now the "conscious principle" is utterly fused Here with Being and your own being and all others' being and that "infinite compassion" is what causes form to form, and here we are, both utterly delighted and utterly impaled in/as/through Being.

That's what I keep seeing: as in any other art, I practice to gain mastery, and then I practice because what else is there to do?

~This particular "other Art" embodiment I Am is not practicing per se; it's more like I'm embedded in/as/through All This wherever Being gets - or is it: makes it necessary - to explore. I have no choice and at the same time I can makes choices - it's gloriously and infamously a mystery. The concept of something else to do remains just that: a concept, because Here Is nothing else to do - we're stuck here with/as all the shit and all the glory, and, yes, forever - and the concept of wanting anything, anything at all, to be different, is just withered completely away; at the same time you can make changes that make things different but Your Realization always remains the same.

Check back with me in a few years, but I'm willing to bet I'm saying much the same "then".
