Ah, Paul....bless you for speaking all this.

For me, I simply cannot say, "I am America" any louder than I say "I am the Earth", "I am humanity." I DO feel America as something i have found myself within, subjected to. I am not complete, I am still divided in this place, I am.

But maybe, maybe, because of the way you are being this, it will become possible for me to find a kind of patriotism that feels bearable, not so small-minded and tight, but a true honoring of a reality that i MUST be part of simply because i am here. love, Kyla
