Bells and red flags go off in my Mind when I find myself in a "dilemma" or "stuck". This tells me that I am only using a part of my mind to address the situation at hand. There IS another way of seeing.

The small m mind can act as a Matrix that keeps us from accessing other possibilities beyond "either/or". When this is all we see we are living in a room with a ceiling, four walls and no door. There seems to be no way out. We feel stuck and hopeless.

This is the place where all our hypermasculine efforts to get UP or OUT or BETTER THAN or MORE SPECIAL etc. have come to a screeching halt. It's actually a wonderful place to be when we realize that there is a whole other world outside this room that we CAN access. Just knowing this makes all the difference. Not knowing this can lead to despair.

The little m mind cannot get us to another way of seeing, we must relax out of it and allow something else to emerge. We can rest in the mystery without trying to figure it out with our mind. We can fall into the feelings we are so desperate to avoid. We can be willing to see things differently.

The little m mind hates this. It hates not knowing. It is addicted to non stop thinking to keep it's sense of identity intact. It is very hypermasculine in it's viewpoint. After all if there are only two choices, mustn't we choose one to avoid the other? Mustn't we try harder to be better so we won't get worse?

And so we can begin to discriminate between the mind that keeps us locked in a small room and the Mind that enables us to see beyond all this and yet include it. Here is the final paradox, in moving from mind to Mind we do not leave the mind behind. We do not disparage it or reject it. We INCLUDE it. We encompass it. We see how it operates and we honor it and love it. At the same time we begin to identify ourselves in a new way, we also ARE the way that got us here. If we insist on rejecting it we are stuck in it for it's way IS to reject. Love is inclusive and not devisive as Deidra has pointed out. Paradoxes abound in the Mind that encompasses everything.
