Hi Morpheus,

I guess this is because most Christians think of Christ as being risen from death and therefore He has left the cross. I know a few Catholics who say that they view the Christ on the Crucifix as a symbol of life from death, therefore a symbol of hope for eternal life. So there are different views on this for the different denominations. I can personally see both sides of this argument
