Subject: Are jehovah witnesses allowed to read books by christian scholars?

 When the jehovah witnesses come to my door and I try to give them books, tracts, and other stuff written by christians they won't take it. I know they especially won't take the anti-Jw stuff and I can maybe understand that in some ways but they won't even take stuff written by christian scholars which isn't against them. Even books on christian theology they won't look at. Are they not allowed to read books by christian scholars?
