Subject: Undeniable Heroic Flying Angels (dedicated to Columbia crew)

As I sit here looking at my pen,
I think of what I have accomplished.
Nothing is my answer to this hand that holds it;
Compared to you brave angels, I've never flown.

Soldiers have bled on battlefields only introduced to death,
While you soared to a place that truly promises peace.
Staring upon an enemy you knew was there yet couldn't see;
Taking such courage to lay one's life down without weapons.

Journeying upwards to fight with gentle notions for us all,
Turning swords into gleaming lights of hope for everyone.
Oh how this earth should honor your valiant intentions,
To not continue them would be the greatest tragedy.

You’ve flown to places most of us have only dreamed of;
Yes, we’ve seen the space above yet not the reality,
Your individual courage has given that gift to us.
You are our heroes and we’ll never forget you.
