Rivers of the Night

Sail the river made of stars
Across the lands of night.
To all the ports near and far,
Where shores are shining bright.

Ride upon the timeless flow,
Through meadow, wood, and fen.
Travel just to where you want to go,
‘Til the gold sun comes back again.

All along the shimmering river
Wash waves of rainbow light.
While nocturnal sailors shiver,
In restless winds of pure delight.

Eastward glows the breaking dawn,
Outstripping silvery skies in flight.
Endless pathways lie hid and gone,
Resurrected by fall of gentle night.
