Attention!

Thanks to everyone who has been supporting Washington's HB2043, which states a dogs breed can't be a determining factor in declaring a dog potentialy
dangerous/dangerous and protects dogs with a definition of provocation.

HB 2043 was heard in the House Judiciary Committee Tuesday March 3rd, 2003. We were told the Bill will pass to second reading.

At the hearing W.A.F. representatives who drafted the bill were there for support. Thanks to (Attorney Suzanne Daniels), (Attorney Jeff Helsdon), (EuroWAF Poul Poulsen), ( Joel Halverson E.B.A.), (P.A.W.S),
(Holly Fraiser President NWAPBTC), (Mike Synder President UKC National APBT Club) (Julia Jones and her husband NWAPBTC) and others who were there for
testimony.

We will post the e-mails for the House of Representatives and lobby to insure the Bill gets heard in the House of Representatives. There was no opposition to the Bill.

In Sikeston Mo. the City Council tabled the proposed ordinance to ban Mastiff's, Chows, Rottweilers and Pit Bulls, thanks to AKC's and WAF's resources and the hard work of local responsible dog owners the Mayor has
decided against BSL. Dog owners from Sikeston called us after the Council Meeting Tuesday March 3, 2003 to inform us of the good news. They are going to rewrite the ordinance.

The Washington Animal Foundation now has a registered lobbyist who will be available for all Bills in Washington State regarding canine legislation.
Remember DOG OWNERSHIP REQUIRES RESPONSIBILITY !!!!!!!

Please forward this e-mail !

Sincerely,
WAF
