The author of the link that I referred you all to may sincerely believe that 9/11 could have been prevented. And he is 100% correct, it most certainly COULD have been prevented. However, the author of that artice takes it even further, he takes it to the next level and states that it SHOULD have been prevented. He stated multiple supporting facts about how the Bush administration dropped the ball, and made invading Iraq top priority. He makes his case by highlighting examples of the previous administration's success in thwarting terrorist attacks, and by highlighting the fact that AMPLE PROOF of warning was given to the next administration, the SHRUB administration. The author makes a very strong case, primarily by using EASILY VERIFIABLE FACTS that the Shrub administration did not take terrorism seriously.

I do not claim that Shrub is responsible for 9/11. I do not claim that he is at fault for the atrocities committed on 9/11. Even my hero, Clinton, has come out and stated that there is no way Shrub could have known about the plans to attack the WTC, Pentagon, and whitehouse... or that they would use planes to do so. Even though someone did land a plane on the whitehouse lawn. Even though the top two people responsible for the first WTC attack revealed plans to use hijacked aircraft to perform terrorist attacks against the Pentagon, Whitehouse, and other American targets. I am not going to argue with Clinton, because he exemplifies the purest logic which is assiciated with the idea that there are no real crystal balls with which to scrye future events or the plans made by bad guys.

The facts are there, and they show a strong case that the shrub administration _IS_ guilty of dropping the ball that the Clinton administration passed to it. The Clinton Successes in thwarting Al Quada attacks is, at the very least, evidence that Gore and Clinton took the threat seriously. Clinton may be guilty of dropping his pants and lying about it, but Shrub is guilty of dropping the ball on terroism which, at the very least, did nothing to contribute to the apprehension of terrorists, and, at most, may have contributed to environment being as ripe as it was for these terroists to attack.

Regardless of the ambiguity inherent in attempting to answer the question, "How could this happen," Shrub is guilty of derelection of duty in this one area; the area of effectively persuing anti-terrorism as an administrative priority. To argue against the obviousness of this truth, particularly when he has stated himself that prior to 9/11 he didn't feel a sense of urgency about terrorism, is futile. This failing is a truth that conservatives and supporters of Shrub like to ignore.

Despite many urgent warnings from the Clinton administration (particularly Janet Reno and Al Gore) to place a very high level of concern on terrorist attacks in the U.S., Shrub focused on plans for an invasion of Iraq. This fact is undisputed. There is so much against the president on this subject that it is 100% clear that terrorism was no where near the top of his list of priorities. Claims to the contrary are mere lies. Claims by Dr. Rice that no one could have seen this happening are an attempt to excuse an appalling and blatant shirking of the responsiblity to continue the fight against terrorism as Clinton had been doing.

Why wasn't this at the top of Shrub's priorities? Well, it wasn't at the top of any of our priorities. Prior to Shrub stealing the election, we were all focused on Clinton lying about popping Monica. The media wasn't covering Clinton's staments about Al Quaeda, or his victories in thwarting their attacks; it was covering linda Tripp's tapes of Monica talking about the stains on her dress.

Is 9/11 Bush's fault? I hardly think this is the case. Shrub is just a simple man, from a simple family, with simple, rudimentary values set in the stone that fills his head. Like almost every one of us, and certainly like me, Shrub was completely ignorant of the truth about how much of a threat there really was from terrorism.

What did Shrub do to strike back against these terrorists? He invaded Iraq. Shrub is unquestionably guilty of lying to America about why we invaded Iraq. Shrub justified the invasion of iraq to congress by stating that any country directy responsible for the events of 9/11 was a valid military target. I would rather have a president who is dilligent in the duties of his office than one who is out to settle an old score and lie to the American people in order to do so.

Bush is a Moron, and any one who thinks he has lifted a single finger to see justice done for the attacks we suffered on 9/11 by invading Iraq is just a lost one. I think that if we impeached Clinton for claiming he was never in bed with Lewinsky, we should impeach Shrub for claiming he isn't in bed with big oil companies.
