Hey there Ray - good to see you in the mix . . . space, huh? Well I guess there's too sides to this question:

1. National pride, ambition, and bit of my own geekiness. I want there to be space exploration. I am not sure I buy into the administration's numbers as far as how this will economically benefit everyone, but I am sure that overall it could be a very good move for our nation. Perhaps a small part of the country's apparent political and economic confusion stems from a lack of focus. In the past we focused on enemies of the state . . . maybe Space will prove just as worthy, and valuable an adversary (again).

2. Money. Bush touts a lot of economic involvement from the private sector as being the key to this program. If so, I am 100% for the plan. If the plan gets started, and (as it always does), the economic numbers change, and (as they always do) the private sector jumps ship, then this could be a disaster. Still though, spaceships are awesome so whatever . . .

As always: God Speed to Uncle Jimmy, and all who seek fart smokers in their lives.
