The one with the glass front? I'm not going to waste my money on something a thief can easily smash through, which is why I'm getting a gun safe. Our children play with their friends outside for the most part (our house is too small to let them play even in their room unless it is only one friend), and if the kids are in the house, so are we. If the kids wanted to try to get to the guns while we were sleeping, they'd have to crawl over my wife and I. I wake up when I hear them push the button on the T.V. in the morning, so unless I'm in a coma, I won't sleep through that.

Additionally, the burglary rate in out town is extremely low. Maybe one or two per year (not counting breaking into vehicles which we have about 5 of those a year).

I agree with your points, but the level of responsibility 'needed' as it goes with the storage of firearms, varies from situation to situation, and I believe my situation at the time is being handled responsibly. Once we move and have the room, I will be purchasing a gun safe to hold my weapons, along with a smaller fireproof safe to hold important documents and ammunition.

Just like I always say about drugs. Making them illegal didn't take drugs away from the criminals. They don't check or care about the laws.
