Which is why I have a Ruger P95DC 9mm pistol. I have a shotgun, but it is pretty long, thus not as nimble in a close quarters fight.

I'm looking into getting a short barreled 12 gauge with pistol grip and folding stock as an additional home defense item.

Generally, the only time my kids see my firearms are while we are out shooting, and while I am at home cleaning them. The only time they go outside is to be transported to our truck to transport to where I shoot.
