You are now to old for military service unless you go in as a professional (doctor, nurse, lawyer, chaplain, etc...), or you go into the Intel field in the Navy (as an officer)... But you might be too old for that last one.

I've done 4 years, want to do about 26 more and retire. By then I'd probably be at least a Lieutenant Colonel, 53 years old, and my retirement pay would be enough to live comfortably off of (according to current pay charts, my monthly retirement would be $5215 a month- not to shabby and this doesn't account for pay raises over the years too!).
