  Okay, this is what I made up to happen after "Eye of the Tiger".
  
  "Embrace"
  
  {School hallway}
  [i][b]~Jimmy, Craig, and Marco enter Degrassi. They notice a lot of guys looking a certain way.~[/b]
  
  Marco: What's everybody lookin' at?
  Jimmy: I don't know.
  Craig: I do. (points) Her right there.
  
  [b]~Marco and Jimmy look at where Craig is pointing.~[/b]
  
  Craig: I can't say I blame 'em. I heard we were getting a new student, but I didn't know we were getting a goddess.
  Jimmy: Man, did you forget that you're married?
  Craig: Shut up. We're not married.
  Marco: Well whatever the case, you're with Ash and I think you should try and stick to being with one girl at a time.
  Jimmy: Yeah, yo' playa skills ain't all that.
  
  [b]~Craig playfully pushes Jimmy. Jimmy laughs a little and so does Marco.~[/b]
  
  Craig: But it's okay to look. Why don't you give it a try Jimmy?
  Jimmy: And end up like you were some months back? Don't think so.
  Craig: You're just lookin'. It's okay to look.
  Jimmy: (looks at her) Yeah........it's okay to look.
  
  
  {Later in the school hallway}
  [b]~Jimmy struggles to get a textbook from the top of his locker. The new girl walks to the locker right next to his and opens it. She takes her books out and closes her locker. She notices Jimmy's having a little trouble.[/b]
  
  NewGirl: (slight Hispanic accent) Do you need help?
  Jimmy: (grunts)::slightly irritated:: No. I'm perfectly capable of getting a book.
  NewGirl: (shrugs) Okay. (starts to walk away)
  
  [b]~Jimmy continues to struggle with the book. He looks around and realizes she's the only one around to help him.~[/b]
  
  Jimmy: I guess I could use your help just this one.
  NewGirl: I thought you'd never ask. (walks back over to him and gets the book) Here you go. (hands it to him) And it's okay.
  Jimmy: What's okay?
  NewGirl: To accept help. You shouldn't be ashamed of your handicap.
  Jimmy: Hey, I ain't handicapped.
  NewGirl: Really? You coulda fooled me. So what do you call having to get around in a wheelchair?
  Jimmy:......
  NewGirl: I'm not tryna offend you, just embrace your situation. (starts to walk away)
  Jimmy: Do you know where you're going?
  NewGirl: (turns around) Actually, no. Can you help me?
  Jimmy: Sure, lemme see your schedule.
  
  [b]~She hands him her schedule.~[/b]
  
  Jimmy: We're goin' to the same class, so follow me. (starts rolling)
  NewGirl: Okay. (follows)
  
  {Mr. Simpson’s class}
  [b]~Toby is sitting in class. Mr. Simpson starts passing out a worksheet.~[/b]
  
  Mr. Simpson: Okay class, today you’re going to construct your own chat rooms. These handouts will pretty much help you out, but if you have any questions just ask me. (continues passing out papers)
  
  [b]~Mr. Simpson hands Toby his paper and keeps going. Toby looks at the paper and is confused.~[/b]
  
  Toby: (turns to his right and whispers) JT.
  JT: What?
  Toby: Does your paper look as confusing as mine?
  JT: What are you talking about? (looks at both papers) There’s nothing confusing about any of this.
  Toby: How can you say that? This paper doesn’t make any sense.
  JT: No, you’re the one not making sense. Your paper’s fine.
  
  [b]~Toby looks at his paper again and still can’t understand it.[/b]
  
  Toby: (turns to his left and whispers) Emma.
  Emma: Hmm?
  Toby: I don’t know why, but I can’t understand a word on this paper.
  Emma: Let me see. (looks at his paper and then hers) Uh…Toby?
  Toby: Yeah?
  Emma: Our papers are exactly the same and I can understand them both. Are you confused by the directions?
  Toby: I can’t even read the directions. The words are all jumbled up and don’t make sense.
  Emma: Oh….how about I walk you through it then?
  Toby: Sure.
  
  {Ms. Kwan’s classroom}
  [b]~Jimmy and the new girl enter Ms. Kwan’s classroom. Ms. Kwan notices.~[/b]
  
  Ms. Kwan: Mr. Brooks, you’re late.
  Jimmy: Well, I found this young lady wandering the halls trying to find her class, so I helped her.
  Ms. Kwan: Okay, you’re off the hook this time. Make sure there is no next time.
  Jimmy: Yes ma’am. (goes to his space)
  Ms. Kwan: Okay class, we have a new student. I’m going to let her introduce herself.
  NewGirl: Well, my name is Saria[/i] {pronounced Suh-rye-yuh} [i]Morales. I’m originally from Manizales, Colombia. After a few years my family moved to New York in the United States. Some things came up and my sister and I moved here. Now I live in Toronto. (turns toward Ms. Kwan) I’m done.
  
  [b]~Paige raises her hand.~[/b]
  
  Ms. Kwan: You have a question Ms. Michalchuk?
  Paige: Yes. Um…::messes her name up on purpose:: Suh-ree-yuh.
  Saria: Suh-rye-yuh.
  Paige: ::doesn’t care:: Yeah. Are you any kin to J.Lo?
  
  [b]~Slight giggles.~[/b]
  
  Saria: She wishes.
  Class: Oooooh.
  Ms. Kwan: Okay, I think that’s enough. You can take your seat now Ms. Morales.
  
  [b]~Ms. Kwan starts talking while Saria takes her seat. She gives Paige a smug look and turns her attention to Ms. Kwan. Paige rolls her eyes.[/b]
  
  {The end of class in the hallway}
  
  Paige: Can you believe that J.Lo wannabe and how she treated me?
  Marco: Paige, you weren’t exactly hospitable to begin with.
  Hazel: You’re just mad because she didn’t answer the way you wanted.
  Marco: And why do you keep calling her J.Lo?
  Hazel: She looks nothing like her.
  Jimmy: Sounds nothing like her.
  Craig: And her butt’s much bigger.
  
  [b]~Everybody looks at him funny.~[/b]
  
  Craig: I didn’t mean to say that out loud.
  Paige: Anyway, nobody talks to me that way and gets away with it.
  
  
  {Meanwhile}
  
  JT: I don’t know what’s wrong with you Tobs. You were acting crazy in media immersion and then you started bugging in English. What’s with you man?
  Toby: I don’t know. Maybe I need some new glasses or something. Nothing looks right.
  Liberty: (walks over to them) What’s going on?
  Toby: Well…
  JT: Nothing my little cupcake. (leans in and starts kissing her)
  Toby: Actually, I’m having a little issue.
  
  [b]~They continue kissing.~[/b]
  
  Toby: You know what, I’m just gonna leave you two alone. (walks away)
  
  {In Mr. Simpson’s classroom}
  [b]~Saria walks into the classroom and looks for a seat. She finds one next to Jimmy and sits down.~[/b]
  
  Saria: We just keep runnin’ into each other, huh?
  Jimmy: I don’t know about runnin’, but we do see each other a lot.
  Saria: (laughs) You know, fate is funny.
  Jimmy: How?
  Saria: Well, I know this girl who kept runnin’ into this one guy. Eventually, they became an item. Then they were engaged. Now, they’re married.
  Jimmy: Oh really? And who would the lucky couple be?
  Saria: My aunt and uncle. Seventeen years and goin’ strong.
  Jimmy: Congratulations. I thought you were gonna say your parents.
  Saria: Well, my parents would’ve been married for twenty years, but they’re gone.
  Jimmy: Oh…I’m sorry.
  Saria: Don’t worry about it. It’s not your fault. Besides, they wouldn’t want me to be mournin’ ‘em. They’d want me to just live my life. So that’s what I’ve been doin’.
  Jimmy: Wow.
  Saria: What?
  Jimmy: How do you do it? I mean, here we are talkin’ about your parents passing and you have the most positive attitude I’ve ever seen.
  Saria: Well thank you. I try not to feel sorry for myself. Self-pity is…pitiful.
  
  [b]~Jimmy doesn’t say anything. He just turns his head away from her so she doesn’t see his face.~[/b]
  
  Saria: Jimmy?
  Jimmy: (doesn’t turn around) Yeah?
  Saria: What’s so interesting over there?
  Jimmy: (sighs and turns around) Nothing. It’s just I’ve been doing some self-pitying and I felt kinda guilty.
  Saria: Well, you don’t have to. I wasn’t tryna take a shot at you. I was just talkin’. But you should stop feeling sorry for yourself. That’s not gonna make it any better. (pauses) Have you considered physical therapy?
  Jimmy: Yeah, but why bother? It’s not gonna work.
  Saria: You don’t know that.
  Jimmy: The doctors said…
  Saria: The doctors aren’t always right. I know we just met and all, but I believe you can do it. If I volunteer to help you, will you do it?
  Jimmy: Like you said, we just met. (turns the opposite way)
  Saria: (scoots her chair closer to him so she’s right at his ear) I wanna help you. Don’t you wanna do all the things you used to?
  Jimmy: What happened to “embrace you situation”?
  Saria: Well, it doesn’t look like you’re gonna do that any time soon. So what do you think?
  Jimmy: What do I think? I think I just met you, don’t know who you are, and really don’t wanna find out.
  
  [b]~She scoots her chair over and sits back.~[/b]
  
  {Meanwhile in Ms. Hatzilakos classroom}
  [b]~Toby’s struggling to read the reading assignment. Liberty notices.~[/b]
  
  Liberty: Toby, are you okay?
  Toby: I’m fine, just fine.
  Liberty: It doesn’t look like you are. Are you having trouble reading?
  Toby: No, I’m fine. I can read exactly what it says.
  Liberty: Then what does it say?
  Toby: The turtle…. Well you have the assignment in front of you, why don’t you read it?
  
  {After class outside the classroom}
  
  Liberty: Toby wait.
  Toby: What do you want?
  Liberty: Toby, what is wrong with you?
  Toby: Nothing, I’m just having a little trouble reading, that’s all. I need to go see my optometrist about a stronger prescription for my glasses.
  Liberty: Is it blurry when you read?
  Toby: No.
  Liberty: Lemme guess. The words you’re reading don’t make sense. Sometimes you see words that don’t even exist.
  Toby: Yeeeeah, how’d you know?
  Liberty: Hello, did you forget I have dyscalculia? Similar symptoms, just with math.
  Toby: Wait, are you saying you think I have dyslexia?
  Liberty: It’s possible.
  Toby: No, I can’t. I’m not dumb.
  Liberty: Being dyslexic doesn’t mean you’re dumb. You just learn differently. You should get tested and find out. I’ll help you if you want.
  Toby: Well….
  
  [b]~Liberty gives him a hopeful look.~[/b]
  
  Toby: Okay.
  Liberty: Good. I’ll find some information for you.
  
  {In the gym}
  [b]~Saria is shooting hoops. She makes all of them. She misses one and it rolls all the way to the other side of the gym and lands next to Jimmy. He picks it up and rolls over to her.~[/b]
  
  Jimmy: You play ball?
  Saria: I play a little of everything.
  Jimmy: (passes her the ball) Oh.
  Saria: Thanks. (shoots another basket and makes it)
  Jimmy: Wow. You’re actually pretty good. Well, at makin’ baskets. (chuckles)
  Saria: Well, at least I’m good at somethin’.
  Jimmy: I’m sorry about earlier. It’s just that, nobody really talks about it. I just live life from day to day.
  Saria: You never think of your future?
  Jimmy: Of course I do, but not of what I could do. Just what I can’t.
  Saria: Well, I can’t say I’ve been in your position. The closest I came to bein’ handicapped was when I sprained my ankle. (pauses) You know, you could do physical therapy. (makes another shot) And if you don’t want to there are many things you can do in a wheelchair.
  Jimmy: Like what?
  Saria: I noticed that you were MVP for the basketball team, two years runnin’. You could do Special Olympics. (makes another shot)
  Jimmy: I’m not retarded.
  Saria: It’s not just for mentally challenged. It’s for people with disabilities also.
  Jimmy: I don’t think that’s gonna happen.
  Saria: Well, you could always do the physical therapy. (makes another shot)
  Jimmy: (laughs) You’re not gonna let that go, are you?
  Saria: (smiles and laughs) Depends, are you gonna say yes? (dribbles the ball between her legs and tries to make another shot; Jimmy rolls up to her and takes the ball)
  Jimmy: I guess so. As long as you go with me.
  Saria: I might…if you give me back my ball.
  Jimmy: Only if you say yes.
  Saria: Okay…yes. The ball?
  
  [b]~He passes her the ball. She dribbles and makes another shot.~[/b][/i]

  Dont u think Paige went a little crazy in the episode when she went to court? I dont blame her i mean what would u do if somone raped u and then didnt get sent to jail for it? I no i would be a little crazy after that but i wouldent do that to my boyfriend never ever because i no he wouldent do that to me. Im glad that Spinner is the forgiving type.

  "”The Wrong Song”
  
  
  Paige walked into the music room, not really wanting to be there. She had asked Ashley to write a song for the song competition that they were entering, but a part of her-a huge part of her-wasn’t in a singing mood. She was still hurting from the night before and she hadn’t slept well either. Every time her brain fell asleep, she would wake up crying and sweating from a nightmare.
  Paige slumped down onto a seat just as Ashley came into the room carrying a folder with what Paige could only guess was her new creation.
  “Here it is!” Ashley said, she sounded so excited, Paige didn’t have the heart to dampen her spirits. She gave Ashley a smile and held out her hand for a copy.
  Ashley handed her one and Paige looked down and started to skim the piece.
  As she started reading, the words started to swirl in front of her eyes like a badly colored dream. She started to feel tears in her eyes as she read the words to herself.
  “It happens to other people. You say how sad, you say poor thing, but when it’s you, it’s something else, it’s everything. You’ll never believe the nightmares, you’ll never know that pain you caused, the scars you left, you’re starring role, the things you stole, everything I lost. You took my body tore it in half, you took my child-hood my heartbeat and laugh…..” As Paige read on, she started feeling sick to her stomach as the tears threatened to fall. Paige was so engrossed in her thoughts that she didn’t even hear Ashley say, “So, what do you think? Good huh?”
  “Huh?” Paige asked honestly.
  “I said, what do you think?”
  Paige had to look away, for fear of bursting into angry tears.
  “What do I think?” Paige asked, her voice low and angry. “You want to know what I think?!”
  “Yes,” Ashley said, a little uncertainly.
  “Here’s what I think,” Paige took the paper and crumpled it up in her hand. She then threw it to the ground and turned and ran out of the room, leaving Ashley stunned and just a little angry. Ashley took another copy of the song out of her folder and went to find Paige. She found her by her locker. She was standing in front of it.
  “Why did you do that?!” Ashley asked, anger in her voice. “You promised me you wouldn’t act-“ she was interrupted by Paige’s voice. It was angry and a little tearful.
  “How could you do that?” Paige asked. “How could you write a song about rape and expect me to….” She turned away as the tears came.
  Ashley was taken aback by Paige’s reaction.
  “You told me to write a song about something that was real.”
  “Not about rape,” Paige said. “You can’t just write a song about rape like that.”
  “Why not?” Ashley asked. “I researched it on the internet.”
  “That doesn’t make you an expert on it,” Paige said quietly.
  “What do you know about it?” Ashley asked evenly.
  At this, Paige slumped to the ground in tears. The tears that were threatening to fall finally came. She sat there, crying and holding her knees to her chest.
  At this, Ashley’s mood changed completely. She sat down beside Paige and attempted to put her arm around her friend, but Paige pushed her away.
  “Leave me alone!” Paige sobbed. “Just go away, okay!”
  “No, I won’t,” Ashley said gently. “I want to help. Paige, I had no idea. I’m sorry. Did…..” Her voice trailed off as the silence was replaced by more sobs from Paige.
  Paige nodded.
  “Dean raped me,” Paige whispered in between sobs. “I didn’t do anything, I swear. I didn’t do anything! I’m trying to forget about it. He’s in my dreams and I just can’t….” Her voice trailed off as more sobs came.
  “Shh,” Ashley said softly, “It’s okay, Paige. It’s okay. Shh.”
  “The song is good,” Paige said through her tears. “Really good, but I can’t…. I’m sorry, Ash, I just can’t sing….” She dissolved into tears as Ashley hugged her.
  “It’s okay,” Ashley comforted. “It’s okay…. It’s okay, Paige, it’s okay. You don’t have to sing the song. It’s okay. It’s okay.” She sat there, holding Paige as Paige cried on her shoulder, trying her best to not let her stomach get the better of her all the while.
  
  ************
  
  Later that night, Paige slept over at Ashley’s house. Paige’s Mom and brother, Mikey, were out and Paige didn’t want to be alone. She didn’t eat much of the dinner that Ashley’s mother had made and even the sight of a single carrot made her feel nauseous.
  Ashley understood and didn’t push the matter when her mother asked Paige why she wasn’t eating. In fact, Ashley lied for Paige, to which Paige was very grateful.
  After dinner, Ashley took Paige upstairs so that she could rest in her room while Ashley did her homework.
  “Just try and rest,” Ashley told Paige after Paige had gotten her pj’s on and had brushed her teeth. “Don’t sleep, just rest. I’ll be right here if you need anything.”
  “Thanks,” Paige said sincerely. “I mean it, Ashley. Thank you for everything.”
  “You’re welcome,” Ashley replied as she gave Paige’s shoulder a pat before Paige laid down and tried her best to rest.
  As Ashley sat there, doing her math, she started thinking about Paige. She was sorry that Paige had gone through what she did, she truly was. She had no idea how Paige felt, and a part of her didn’t want to know.
  As Ashley turned the page in her math book, Paige shot up in bed. Ashley looked over and saw Paige crying in bed. Ashley rushed over and put her arm around Paige.
  “It’s okay, Paige, it’s okay. You’re all right. You’re safe. It’s okay. I’m right here. What happened, did you have a nightmare?”
  Paige nodded as fresh tears came.
  “Why won’t they go away?!” Paige sobbed as Ashley held her. “Why won’t they go-“ She was interrupted as a bout of nausea hit her and she ran to the bathroom, releasing the contents of her stomach the moment she reached the toilet. As Paige retched and heaved, she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked up to see Ashley sitting on the floor behind her.
  “It’s okay,” Ashley said softly. “It’s going to be okay. I promise. You’re okay.”
  “Girls?” Came Ashley’s mother’s voice. “What’s going on?”
  Ashley glanced at Paige, who had started to throw up again to her mother.
  “Uh, Paige just had a nightmare and she feels a little sick to her stomach. She’ll be okay. I’m going to take care of her. Go back to sleep, Mom.”
  Mrs. Kerwin looked a little suspicious, but nodded before leaving.
  “I’m sorry,” Paige said as she tried to gain composure. “Your Mom must think I’m a nut.”
  Ashley let out a small giggle.
  “No, I don’t think so. Terri’s gotten sick at my house plenty of times so she’s seen me taking care of her.”
  Paige nodded as the urge to throw up overcame her once again.
  After Paige’s stomach had calmed down, Ashley helped her back to the room and then retrieved a bucket from the closet.
  “I don’t need that,” Paige said. “I think it was just a one time deal. I’m okay. Really.”
  Ashley shook her head and put the bucket beside the bed.
  “Just in case,” she said as she sat down next to Paige, putting her hand on Paige’s forehead. “You feel a little warm. Let me go get the thermometer. I’ll be right back.” She left the room and came back in a matter of five seconds with the instrument. She placed it underneath Paige’s tongue and waited for the results.
  After five minutes had passed, she took it out and read it.
  “According to this, you have a 100 degree fever. So much for not being sick.”
  Paige nodded and closed her eyes.
  “I’m sorry,” she apologized.
  “For what?” Ashley asked incredulously. “You have nothing to be sorry about. You’re probably sick from everything that happened to you and the stress of keeping it from everyone. You’ll feel better soon. I promise.”
  “I just want to sleep,” Paige said tearfully. ‘I just want a goodnight’s rest and not have any nightmares. I just want to forget about it. Is that too much to ask?!” She started crying again and Ashley sighed as she hugged her.
  “No it’s not,” Ashley said softly as she stroked Paige’s hair. “It’s not too much to ask.” As she sat there, comforting Paige, she prayed that her friend would be okay.
