Subject: 50th year anniversary


Those who forgot or were not even born on September 9, 1972, today is the 50th year anniversary of Miss Wisconsin 1972, Terry Anne Meeuwsen of De Pere becoming Miss America 1973 on Saturday, September 9, 1972, and suddenly became the first Wisconsin woman to win the national title and crown.

Today, Friday, September 9th, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel has a nice 50th year anniversary tribute ("Today in History") with a picture of Terry Anne being crowned by Miss America 1972, Laurel Lee Schaefer of Ohio.

The tribute is shown on the front page of the Green Sheet entertainment page, page 13-B (back portion of the sports section). Check the Journal-Sentinel newspaper today, its sold all over Wisconsin and also seen in many libraries too.

Congratulations to Terry Anne Meeuwsen, and also to her state first runner-up Miss Milwaukee 1972, Linda Marie Henderson of Elm Grove, who assumed the Miss Wisconsin title a week after Terry became Miss America of 1973. Happy 50th anniversary!!
