Three of the contestants (sorry, I hate the word delegates) have competed multiple times at La Crosse, only to have never placed or won. I'm not sure what their incentive is to continue, unless they just enjoy competing for the heck of it. Five of them have held local titles before, so I'd say they definitely have an advantage going into this. One of them would be worn out by the end of the first week of Oktoberfest if she were to win. Another one was 2nd runner-up to Miss Wisconsin . . .hmmmm. I'm sure they'll once again have a decent show and a full house, but it would be nice if there were some new faces competing. With three colleges in town there has to be some other deserving young women out there that would like the honor of being Miss La Crosse-Oktoberfest. That's where active recruiting and actually getting into the colleges and schools to explain the program is important
