Subject: Change of 2020 state pageants

BREAKING NEWS:
Per posted message today on the Miss Wisconsin Facebook page, the 2020 Miss Wisconsin and Miss Wisconsin's Outstanding Teen pageants, previously scheduled for June in Oshkosh, have since been moved to August, 2020.

"The Miss Wisconsin Organization has made the decision to postpone both Miss Wisconsin 2020 and Miss Wisconsin's Outstanding Teen for the safety of everyone involved."

The Miss Wisconsin pageant will be Saturday, August 22, 2020 with two preliminary shows on Wednesday, August 19 and Thursday, August 20th.

The Miss Wisconsin's Outstanding Teen pageant will be held Friday, August 21, 2020. Both pageant will be held at the Alberta Kimball Civic Auditorium at Oshkosh West High School in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

For history buffs, the last times when the Miss Wisconsin pageant was held in August was in 1952 (technically when the winner, Jeannie Eleanor Huston of La Crosse was appointed as Miss Wisconsin, the only time a Miss Wisconsin was appointed) back on August 8, 1952, and the 1948 Miss Wisconsin pageant that was held on August 17, 1948 when Marvene Fischer of Milwaukee won the crown in Lake Geneva.

Lets hope that the pandemic health crisis will be over and the 2020 state pageants will not be needed to be postponed a second time this year. But at least the Miss Wisconsin directors posted today this new date.

Correction---the 1948 Miss Wisconsin pageant was actually held in Lake Geneva not Milwaukee. However -- the 1947 state pageant was held Aug. 1, 1947 in Lake Geneva, 10:06:56 04/05/20 Sun

With the state pageants now in August I guess its obvious that the Miss America pageant will likely -- be held in December not in September? When for OT?, 17:00:59 04/05/20 Sun
