Subject: Miss Wisconsin announcement

"The Miss Wisconsin and Miss Wisconsin’s Outstanding Teen competitions have been postponed until June 2021. Amidst the global pandemic, the Miss America Organization Board of Directors voted unanimously to postpone the 2021 competition. The current local titleholders who would have competed for Miss Wisconsin 2020 will be the group to compete for Miss Wisconsin 2021, should they accept to continue their reign.

Any current titleholder who would have “aged out” and been eligible for Miss Wisconsin 2020 is now grandfathered in and is eligible to compete for Miss Wisconsin 2021. The same guidelines are in place for current Teen local titleholders."

Of course, what this press announcement does not say is, while current crowned local and state open title-holders can continue on until June 2021 when they compete in the 2021 Miss Wisconsin pageant, it does not say if locals can be held between October 2020 and March 2021. And what about the upcoming Miss Sparta pageant set for next month? That carry-over current winner, Hannah Pieper, will reign for two years?

So, to clarify, there will not be a Miss South Central, Miss Kenosha, Miss Door County, Miss Madison, Miss St. Francis, etc. next winter?? A total skipped year?

Well, it looks like we got our answer with this posted comment from Miss Kenosha 2020, Alexandra Daher:

"Hey Kenosha! It looks like you are going to have me for another year! The Miss America Organization announced that the Miss America competition, previously scheduled for December, is being delayed to next year due to the impact of COVID-19. As a result, the Miss Wisconsin Organization has decided to postpone the Miss Wisconsin competition until June 2021, meaning that I will get to serve the BEST community in the world and share my social impact initiative with my whole heart, for another year! Although this is not how I expected my year to go, I am honestly so excited to make more memories with not only the amazing people in my city but my fellow title-holders as well. I am so thankful and excited for the road ahead."

(This is a cleaned-up version of what she posted. Alexandra is a high school graduate and an official representative of her city (Kenosha), and yet she can't use proper grammar and not publicly post like a ten-year-old?? Where are her co-city directors to proof-read and approve of that Facebook message? Oddly enough, Tori Bogren is a teacher and a former Miss Kenosha (2014). Both set real good examples of a good education. If Alexandra and/or Tori was smart, they would delete and re-post that message with less slang and better grammar. The use of "gonna", "soooo", and "bestie" are not appropriate for an official posted message on the Miss Kenosha Facebook page just as calling co-directors Tori and Ashley "guys" vs gals.)

By the way, inside scoop---mark your 2021 calendar for Miss Wisconsin's Outstanding Teen competition pageant to be staged on Friday, June 18th and the 2021 Miss Wisconsin pageant for Saturday, June 19, 2021 in Oshkosh.

Maybe the good thing to come out of this--local directors won't put on a 2021 pageant, could -- organize another (a state open) to send two in 2021., 14:00:29 05/09/20 Sat
- That would actually make sense for some local directors. They could use the resources and staging -- to organize a one-time-only state open or a local pageant., 10:26:45 05/10/20 Sun
  - Someone like Debra who runs Miss Racine can instead have a one-time-only Miss Prairie Shores -- or Miss Belle City pageant in place of Miss Racine 2021., 10:28:23 05/10/20 Sun
