Hi Larry,

I started to look around for more information on the John O. Seevers that was the brother of your grandfather Henson William Seevers.

I took another look at the 1900 census for Salt Creek Township, Muskingum County, Ohio and noticed something that I didn't before.

On this census, in the information for Rachel Ann (Davis) Seevers, who was the second wife of John Williams Seevers, in column 11, where it asks "Mother of how many children", she states only one. Also, it says that John O. Seevers was born in April of 1890. Since the elder John William Seevers married his second wife Rachel Ann Davis on June 10th, 1890, the younger John O. Seevers was very likely by his first marriage to Jennie Fetron. Jennie may have died in childbirth or soon after. It is not unusual for a man that has small children to take care of to marry very soon after the death of his wife.

Then, there is the 1920 census for Muskingum County, Ohio. There is a Frank Barlow that has a John Seevers living in his household. John is married to Frank's daughter Mabel.

This could be John O. Seevers. The 19020 census says that John is 25 years old. This is off a little, but you know how some census records can be.

This John Seevers may have died or was divorced from Mabel, as she was married to Harvey Gill in about 1930 or so.

I am going to update my Seevers tree to say that John O. Seevers must have been a son by John William Seevers' first wife Jennie.

I'll still look around for more.

I hope that this helps.

Mike Hall
