They can be told or sung to children. It works best if you have felt figures or objects. It truly helps develop/build vocabulary. Hope your children enjoy, and hopefully I just didn't give you a headache...LOL!!!
TO SCARE SOMEONE ON HALLOWEEN NIGHT
To scare someone on Halloween night
I'll tell you what to do
You hide behind a (pumpkin, cat, or witch) face
And then you hollar BOO!!!
(papercut cutout pumpkin, cat, witch works great)
PICK A PICK A PUMPKIN
Pick a pick a pumpkin from the pile.(2X)
Pick a pick a pumpkin round and clean.
We'll be ready for Halloween!
Halloween! (clap, clap)
Halloween! (stamp, stamp)
Halloween!
JACK-O-LANTERN
I am a pumpkin big and round,
Once upon a time I grew on the ground.
Now I have a mouth, 2 eyes and a nose,
What are they for do you suppose?
When I have a candle burning bright,
I'll be a jack-o-lantern on Halloween night.
PUMPKIN TIME
October time is pumpkin time(clasp hands in front like pumpkin)
The nicest time of the year,
When all the pumpkins light their eyes and grin from ear to ear.
Because they know at Halloween
They'll have lots of fun,
Peeking through the windowpanes and watching people run.
FIVE LITTLE PUMPKINS
5 little pumpkins sitting on the gate,
The 1st one said, "Oh, my it's getting late."
The 2nd one said, "There are witches in the air."
The 3rd one said, "Oh, I don't care."
The 4th one said, "Let's run and run and run."
The 5th one said, " Isn't Halloween fun."
Then poof went the wind and out went the lights
And the 5 little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
HALLOWEEN WITCHES
1 little, 2 little, 3 little witches,
Flying over haystacks,
Flying over ditches,
Slide down the moon
Without any hitches,
Heigh-ho, Halloween's here!
THREE LITTLE WITCHES
3 little witches on Halloween night.
Danced and sang by pumpkin light.
First little witch sang a sweet little song,
DUM-DITTY, DUM-DITTY, DING, DING, DONG!
Second little witch did a dance with her broom
1-2-3. BOOM, BOOM, BOOM.
Third little witch did a trick with her hat,
TIP IT, TAP IT, OUT FLEW A BAT.
Three little witches on Halloween night,
Swish with their brooms--out went the light.
5 LITTLE GHOSTS
5 little ghosts dressed all in white
Were scaring each other on Halloween night.
"Boo!" said the 1st one. "I'll catch you!" (Hold up pointer finger).
"Whoo," said the 2nd, "I don't care if you do!" (Hold up middle finger).
The 3rd ghost said, "You can't run away from me!" (Ring finger).
And the 4th one said, "I'll scare everyone I see!" (Little finger).
Then the last one said, "It's time to disappear!" (Thumb).
See you at Halloween time next year.

Went out to play.
A great big pumpkin looked at them

A scary skeleton tip-toed by,

HALLOWEEN SUBTRACTION
3 little ghosts and Halloween night,
Saw a witch and shrieked in fright.
The witch just laughed and shouted,
"Boo!"
1 ghost ran home, and that left 2.
2 little ghosts in 2 little sheets
Went to a door to say, "Trick or treats."
But when the door swung open wide,
A scary goblin stood inside.
1 ghost gulped and said to the other,
"I'm going home and stay with my mother."
Of the 3 little ghosts, there was now one alone,
Too frightened to utter a groan or a moan.
1 little ghost who shivered and shook
With every single step he took,
A fraidy-cat ghost can't have much fun,
So he cried, "Wait for me!" and then there was none.
HALLOWEEN IS COMING(sung to tune: I'm a Little Teapot)
Halloween is coming,
I like it the most.
I'll be a goblin.
You can be a ghost.
When we get all dressed up, we will say,
"Boo! It's trick or treat today!"
