Subject: Pvt Faranfontoff 505th Company C

Need Help acquiring information on Walter Faranfontoff #39572172. He was a private in the 505th Company C. He was KIA in Plasmolen, Holland 9/24/44.
I am hoping someone from this group was in at the same time, or maybe a family member was, and can shead some light on what ribbons and citations, both US and foreign, he would be eligible for so we can complete constructing his military record.
He jumped in Normandy and was wounded. He jumped into Holland and was KIA. We have been told his wings would have 2 stars. We know he had one Purple Heart because that was returned with his property in 1947. We also have the Purple Heart he received about a year after his being KIA but that is it.
Our attempts in getting his military records have been hampered because of the fire where they were stored destroyed them. And yes, we did apply with the 180.
