That iron on tape is the cheaters way out. It makes it easier to sew on when you can iron it in place first and then sew it. I have found the best way is to lightly tack or pin the 4 corners, see if it is straight and in the right place and then sew it on for good......by hand of course.

This hobby has made me into a sewing fool. I now have a sewing machine and I have been observed entering a fabric store or two.(No,I am not gay!) I was even lucky enough to find a 9,600 yard spool of WW2 cotton thread. Still has the US Gov't tag on it.
