Usually the invasion flag was used on the M-1942 parachutist jacket or the M-1943 Field Jacket. I have never seen it sewn to the shoulder of an overcoat.

The use of the divisional patch (i.e. "AA" patch) on the overcoat is an interesting question. I have seen it done in films but have never seen a single specimens with this done. All the ones I have personally seen have had no patches on them.

If you are planning on using the coat for a "Bastogne" impression I would leave it without the patch or flag.

The jeep is still undergoing restoration. I am redoing a few things which the man who did my body work botched and doing some of the things he should have done but did not.

Sam
