Subject: Dale R. Canfield, G/505 82nd Airborne Division

My sister and I are looking for information on my grandfather. We never knew him. My father was adopted by his step-father when he was very young and nothing was ever said about our biological grandfather.

His name was Dale Raymond Canfield (nickname Manny?), ASN 36273918. We have found out that he was part of the G/505, 82nd Airborne Division during WWII. We cannot seem to find any information on him and we were wondering if anyone out there might have served with him or knows someone who was also with the G/505. We did send off for his military records, but we received a letter saying that they haven't been able to locate them yet.

We would very much like to know a little bit more about him. Since my father has passed away we have always wondered what our grandfather might have been like.
