Frozen Dreams

Lost in a momentary reverie he looked back to the path now, down the way they'd come then up, and back again. Now wher had she gone? he steps up the path and catches a white on white movement and prances quickly back to her side, smirking at the way she seemed displeased at the snow. he didn't understand why not. he shook his mane again, sending the crystalline forms dancing in the wind, some resettling on him, some on the mare's already blanketed hide and the rest on the soft winter earth that made up the path.

Squinting slightly, some of the snow shaken off the stallion melted in her eyes. She focuses on the view ahead, aware of the endless knot of roots emitting from the richly feasted, dark soil.
