The palomino mare canters in, a huge smile breaking out on her face as she sees her friends gathered. "Hi!" Skidding to a halt, the now older mare sidesteps to Dancey's side.

Nia's eyes had turned hollow long ago. They had witnessed too many departures and observed the ephemeral lives of unfufilled promises in full.

Now, seeing one of her children actually moving towards her as opposed to scurrying in the opposite direction was something of a shock. Nia wasn't good with the severity of new experiencs.

Naturally, a little incredulity was in order. That Friesian looked so much like him...could it be? What else would snatch Kamani from his seemingly-perpetual doldrums? And hadn't Sunny's name arisen somewhere in that confusing tangle of rapid interrogation? Nia's eyes might be little more than boarded up windows, but her hearing was an entirely different story.

"Darey? Is that you?" Unlike Kamani, her words were genuine. That old stalwart trust in herself and her instinct had been lost, somehow, along the way.

She moved closer. "Is that you?" She repeated, still unable to believe.
