startled the stallion's immediate reaction is not to react. he stands still, as the consequence of her ation seeps in. it was like dropping a stone into a pool it blanketed all his thoughts with ripples, but as the stone sank it pulled the covering with it, so soon he was releasing his muscles and bounding after the fleeing mare. his crania lowered to level his shoulders, in the most aerodynamic form a horse can take, he quickly gained on her, his mustang blood pulling through for him, he reached sideways as he neared and took a lock of her mane between his teeth, he jerked it with surprising care before releasing it as their two forms pulled apart again. his eyes danced but not with brandished flames, with harboured stars, orbiting themselves.
