i can't stand my laughter as they cry
my soul brings tears to angelic eyes

battle. fighting. whatever you may call it, it is an art, not an act of brute strength. it is about tactics and strategy, not just trying to bash your opponents head in. it should not be harsh, jerking movements, but swaying, fluid ones, much like dancing. that was how things should be, but not everyone shared her views.

she watched as he lunged towards her, and in the split second it took him to close the gap, she spun on her forehand, sending her hindlimbs to crash towards his pate. break his jaw, his nose, something interesting will happen. but, there was a disadvantage to the move. the force of him slamming in to her, regardless of where she hit him, would send her stumbling forward, and she'd bu lucky if she did not fall all togeather! momentum thrust her forward, and she tried to regain herself and spin to face him once more, but she knew she'd be open for mutilation.

in a desperate attempt to gain herself the precious seconds to recover, she screamed out to him, her words dripping with defiance and challenge, enough to hide her fear.

let's make this interesting. you win, and i will carry a child for you. i win, and you must tell the king and queen you want me to be the gamma female.

she could only hope now that her words would distract him, or else he could possibly end the battle right her. she was stumbling, and in an awkward position, unprotected. but she'd hit him, hopeful. perhaps the pain and the words togeather would save her... she could only hope...

Frozen Dreams

He tasted blood, something was broken, she hit hard that one. and he reared back only slightly as she cleared pst him. not a nice little girl. and what's that she says? words. distractions.
he took her words in, absorbed them like a sponge, it took only a fraction of a fraction of time for him to register. he wasn't a simpleton. he could multi-task. it was perfect: he came forward again, rearing again, fore-legs pounding hard on the soft flesh of her side. he could hold the position for quite a while, as when he came down he could rest his weight against her and push back, pounding once more. he tilted his head and called into the wind. the laughter was evident. he spun back, pivoting on right hind-leg. landing parallel to her, this left his face once again open to attack but he didn't plan to be there long, he locked eyes with her, drawing her in. his grin was echoed in his stance and he shook free a few droplets of blood from his muzzle.

I accept, little friend.

precarious it was. precariously he stood. dangerous ground.
