Mare of blue roan hue wanders restlessly. From the bottom of the valley, where grass grew sparsly, to the side of the small creek that ran through it, she explored, wandered, adventured.

She picked up a cadenced trot as she scaled a small hill, overlooking a steep bluff on a side of one mountain which the valley could be found betwixt. Looking out over the valley, she can do nothing but stare in awe. Its appearance is as harsh as the lands she has seen and dwelled in, past, but its grandeur is far beyond that. Housing the smallish herd, it seems isolated, yet connected to the rest of Cascade Mountains.

Turning, she canters down the hill, her long mane whipping about her neck and face, and her tail flowing as a banner in the wind

She stops by the creek after her short journey--if it could be called that--and lays quietly down next to its laughing, burbling self. Gazing upon it she is lost in thought--not sleeping, though not truly awake
