Abruptly he noticed the reactions of both Frozen Dreams, Carinosa... and was sharply reminded that there was a filly, orphaned no less, in their midst. And so, he withdrew smoothly from the arguement with a small smile for his daughter.

"Why don't you go talk to your mother?"

Now he turned physically away from the hateful filly, his glance sliding over the others gathered, an expression of profound weariness entering his eyes as he became full released from Psyche's glare. "My apologies..." he murmured, taking an involuntary step towards them - then halting. Shaking his head roughly, he managed a bright-ish smile.

"Very well." His gaze journeyed to the filly, and winced unconsciously away before returning. "What is your name, young one?" He asked kindly, though his heart was still beating a rhythm of increasing sadness and anger.
