Psyche's reticence departed at the mention of being escorted to the messy social function. By proxy and process of elimination, that left only an acid tongue in her head to contend with her unruly temper.

"No, you idiot, I don't want to go to the Snow Ball with you. I don't want to go to the Snow Ball at all, actually, but I'd kill myself before I ever went with someone like you. And, because you made the mistake of asking me, the chances of me ever actually wanting to talk to you again have disappeared." Scowling, her harsh gaze burned holes in his sleek coat.
