The chestnut hued filly walked through the dark forest, her optcs gazing 'bout the pale emerald of the foilage. She was aware that she walked, but she did not know to where she traveled.
She felt as if she sleep-walked, but she was very much concious and aert. What kind of magic was doing this?
She stopped at a small creek and found herself looking into the mirror-like depths of the water.
She felt a strange sense of falling forward into the pool, but all four hooves were planted firmly 'pon the earth.
Then a voice came, a voice that reverberated around her [Paintling? My dear child..]
Wraith backed up a step Who's there!
[Oh, the agony when a child does not know the voice of her own mother?]
You! Wraih snarled, rearing.
[Aye, my demnted one, aye. Do you fear my presence here?]
You're nothing! A 'geist, nothing more!
[Let yourself believe that.]
Foolery!
[Not likely, daughter-mine..do you feel still my blood 'pon your hide?]
Do not speak to me! You ar nothing!
[Oh!] the voice rose and a wind whipped around.
Go, be banished to your rightful place! Wrath roared, rearing and slashing at an invisible opponent.
[You're powerless!] the voice screamed, the wind sweeping across Wraith.
Wraith's eyes rolled and she leaped backwards. Go away! Go away! what is done is done!
[You wish, murderer! You wish it to be so!]
Wraith screamed and again reared, her skull crashing against a tree branch. She stumbled, seeing sars before her eyes. She screamed again, this time in pain, and leaped forward..as if to maim her dead foe.
Her hoof caught against a rock and she fell forward. As she tried to right herself, she fet soething push her from behind and she fell forward.
Her chest hit a rock, and she felt the icy chill of water. She tried to gain her feet, but the spectral demon kept her in the frigid water.
[Do you know what you did to me?] the spectral voice hissed.
Wraith screamed, feeling pain as a rock cut into her side.
