Subject: She doesn't have to carry the burden alone anymore
In reply to: Kathryn 's message, "So what did the smile mean?!?" on 23:45:55 05/20/03 Tue

Buffy has always felt so alone, partly because of the huge and isolating responsibility of being the slayer, "ONE girl in all the world" . . . etc.

Though her burden was lessened a bit by Kendra's existence, and then Faith's, it was still always pretty much Buffy's burden.

But, by the end of Chosen, with so many active Slayers, she isn't alone anymore, and she won't have to carry the burden by herself.

So I think she's smiling for two reasons:
1). She no longer feels so alone
2). She might get to live more of a normal life now that the evil has been pushed back and there are so many slayers

I guess I don't think her cookie dough is done so much as it finally has a chance to start baking. So to speak.

Ahh...I get it. She's not alone anymore. One more question, did the people of Sunnydale evacuate at some time before the crater or were thousands of lives lost?
