Interesting choices, everyone! It's fun to see both the similarities and differences in our lists. Perhaps when this thread has run its course, I'll compile a list of the top ones chosen from each season and post the results.

Speaking of which, in looking at your lists, there are a few episodes I can't believe that I forgot to include on my own list:
Season 5: Checkpoint and Crush (a tie)
Season 6: Lies My Parents Told Me (I loved that episode! What was I thinking?)

Just curious . . . what are some of the reasons for some of your choices? I realize you probaby don't have the time or energy to write an explanation about each episode . . . but I would enjoy — and I'm sure others would, too — hearing what you especially like about some of the episodes on your list.

And I was reminded that I really like that episode, too. It didn't make my Season 4 favorites list, but I do enjoy it. It's another one of those episodes, though, that I lot of people dislike, isn't it? Why is that?

Buffy is funny (I think) as Cave Buffy, wanting to see the people on the TV; there is a nice tie-in throughout the episode with the lecture by Prof. Walsh about the Id wanting what it wants and the whole nasty Parker business; Buffy's sniffing of Xander (reminds of when she's drunk/under the influence of the spell in "The Witch" and tells him that he is her "Xander-shaped friend"), Willow being able to see through Parker's bs. All good.

Enjoyed your explanations, AH fan! You manage to explain very clearly yet very succinctly.
