Hey, thanks everyone for your posts! It really is fun to see each other's picks, isn't it? And, it's definitely getting me in the mood (as if I wasn't already) for tonight's finale.

Okay, here are my brief reasons for the episodes I picked:

FAVORITES
Season 1:
1). The Witch — "You're my Xander shaped friend"
2). Welcome to the Hellmouth — Hello Buffy.
3). The Pack — Xander is both scary and sexy. And, they ATE the principal???
4). Prophecy Girl — Reminds us (and Buffy) of the seriousness of Buffy's responsibility. And XANDER brings her back to life. Woo-hoo!
5). The Harvest — In the scene at the Bronze see what Buffy's made of. Xander & Willow & Giles help.

Season 2
1). School Hard — To me, this is the classic episode of Buffy. Great Buffy (trying to not get expelled, not let Joyce talk to her teachers, etc.), and Spike and Dru are fabulous. And even some Spike & Angel interaction! :) "You were my Yoda!"
2). Becoming Part II — Spike and Joyce. And "close your eyes."
3). Passion — Run Jenny, run!
4). When She Was Bad — Willow & Xander and ice cream. Buffy dancing with Xander (did anyone else see smoke coming off of him?). Cordelia telling Buffy to "spank her inner moppet."
5). What's My Line (parts I & II) — Just enjoyed the plot. Good story.

Season 3
1). Band Candy — Giles and Joyce! Hello Ripper!
2). Graduation Day Part II — The scene where the Sunnydale students fight back. Gets me choked up every time.
3). The Wish — So cool. And awful. Tough Buffy makes me sad (shades of this Buffy, I think, are evident in Season 7).
4). The Zeppo — The scene where the series can laugh at itself (Buffy & Angel's familiar & melodramatic argument being background). Xander and Faith! And, just, Xander . . . Love the Xan-man!
5). Dopplegangland — Hilarious. The scene at the Bronze where Anya says, "yeah, yeah, humans could do that . . ."

Season 4 (ok, I'm getting carried away w/this one)
1). Hush — My favorite non-singing episode ever
2). Pangs — Xander wanting the gang to get back & focus on curing his syphillis (sp?), Buffy's "it needs more condensed milk," Spike's "you made a bear"
3). Something Blue — Hilarious . . . and hey, look at that nifty chemistry between Buffy & Spike . . .
4). Harsh Light of Day — Great Buffy & Spike fight. And it's in the daylight.
5). This Year's Girl & (parts I & II) — The scene where SMG as Faith/Buffy makes faces in the mirror/ teases Spike at the Bronze/ can't deal w/love from Riley. SMG is just great.
6). Restless — Huh?
7). The Yoko Factor — One of the greatest in-fighting, bickering scenes ever. And Giles makes a nice drunk.

Season 5
1). Fool for Love — Amazing ep.
2). The Gift — Everyone works together. Buffy's dive. Spike's tears. Giles' resolve.
3). The Body — Best tv episode or movie I've ever seen about death. Ever. Joss gets it not just right, but perfect. And the scene in Willow's room with her sweater and Anya's questions. And Buffy's staring at the numbers on the phone. Gulp.
4). Spiral — Just good fun. Like Raiders of the Lost Ark, or something.
5). Crush & Checkpoint: Loved Spike's attempt to woo in Crush, his resisting of Dru (more evidence that he really is beginning to change); Buffy's defiance of the council in Checkpoint (and the scenes where they interview her friends).

Season 6
1). Once More with Feeling — Brilliant.
2). Tabula Rasa — Fascinating to see the characters stripped to their cores/free of the weight of life experience.
3). Normal Again — Oh no! It makes sense . . . .
4). Villians — Willow goes bad. Sucking the text from the books.
5). A tie: Gone/Life Serial — Both make me laugh. And yet, as typical w/Buffy, are also a little sad. And, Gone is the ep that gave us "your arch nemesis. sees. sis."

Season 7
1). End of Days — Anya & Andrew. Spike & Buffy. Xander & Dawn. Xander & Buffy. Great moments that felt good for the soul.
2). Conversations with Dead People — Smart, fascinating. And, wow, Buffy needs a therapist.
3). Storyteller — Funny, bittersweet. Love what it tells us about the way we shape our own memories, create versions of our own stories.
4). Lessons — Reminds me of School Hard in that it just feels like classic Buffy (whatever that means). Fabulous last scene.
5). Lies My Parents Told Me — Both Buffy & Spike take steps in becoming their own persons here. Look out.

Season 1
1)Witch - You don't want her she's a w... Wise choice indeed - Xander covering up starts off a trend
2)Welcome to the Hellmouth - First one could everyone be any cuter/younger looking?
3)The Pack - Xander gets to be sexy and i agree with him that buffy looks good when she's scared

Season 2
1) School Hard - Hello SPIKE!
2) Go fish - I'm undercover - not much!
3) Whats my line part 2

Season 3
1) Band Candy - just very funny esp. I've eaten a ton of this stuff and i don't feel any diff... never mind!
2) Doppelgangland - how funny. I'm back - "oh s***" and "yeah i've seen humans do that..."
3) Earshot - on the bonnet of a cop car? TWICE? and i just like the devotion of angel

Season 4
1) Hush - nothing needs to be said (about the ep or my bad joke..)
2) Beer Bad - "Foamy" and the bit where the idiot apologises and get whacked over the head
3) Fear itself - don't taunt the fear demon - and Xander being ignored?

Season 5
1) The gift - very good last ep.
2) The Body - very touching and they got the emotions just right, i've been through what buffy went through and they got it right. very few people can say that popular programs have done that.
3) Family - Spike punches Tara in the nose, it's funny i don't care what anyone else thinks

Season 6
1) Tabula Rasa - Hands down funniest ep that season. Joan? really?
2) OMWF - singing and dancing teehee
3) villains - yes willow was sick but she was hot too

Season 7
1) Lies my parent told me - very strong character development ep
2) Storyteller - Andrew is v. funny
3) Chosen - i haven't seen it yet but i've read the script etc. it'll be epic...
