The mare opens her eyes and looks seriously at the younger mare.* This is a magical pendant, *she says in a soft voice.* Whenever he wears it, he will know you are thinking of him and loving him. But on the day that your love for him dies, that your forget him, it will shatter into a thousand and one pieces. And for a year and a day after the day it shatters, visions of the love he once had will haunt him. *Sweating and exausted, she collaspes on the grass. She nods to the shimmering heart that floats in mid-air and murmurs,* That's the most powerful love-pendant I've made. Ever.
