So we had Tigs back with my regular vet today, you see I use 2 vets as mine is so booked all the time I can never see him unless I want to wait 2 weeks. he has finally expanded his practice so he is much more available now and I am so happy as I just love him. we use another vet locally here for a fill in for small things, like for Tony's kennel cough we used him, or a torn toe nail, or a skin problem, or something minor but I have been working with him on tigs heart issues and he has been prescribing her meds and working with a cardiologist over the phone as well as doing monthly EKG'S, but I just don't really like his attitude anymore. he wants me to go to TN and spend the 750.00 to have all the test repeated I have already done and I just can't do that and am trying to get him to consult via the phone with her. I pay for it so its no big deal and I pay him for his time to so I am not trying to get away cheap or anything I have spent thousands already on this heart issue and I have no regrets, but he bitches and moans about it and makes me feel like a bad pet owner cuz I Am not wanting to back to TN and do all the test I just did 5 months ago. I try and tell him the dog is almost 12, I don't want to keep putting her through all these test and having her poked and prodded on.. she has become terrifed of goign to the vet and its VERY stressful on her... the EKG'S are enough in TN they do echo's, x rays, blood pressure checks and an ekg, the dog is there for a full 8 hours its to much for my girl. so he doesn't want to call the Dr and see if we can add more meds, so forget him.... I just spent 250.00 today so his loss and my gain.. I am not going back to see him in regards to tigra's heart issues anymore. he is no help and was not willing to try a new pain med with her either, how bad is that? GEEZ..... He said he doesn't want to get into that with her heart meds, but my vet I saw today said No problem we can change things around and find her a new pain pill.

First off her pain is very bad. she is so arthritic and stiff that she can barely get up and down our stairs. Rimadyl is not cutting the mustard anymore so we are trying a med called " Previcox" it is similar to celebrex for humans. its so darn expensive, at 85.00 for 30 pills so I am going to see if I can get it from 1800 pet meds and if not its okay, I will take another job if I need to, my animals mean the world to me and I will do what I have to do, but I am not goign back to TN..... has anyone tried it? 2nd issue are these collapsing issues, there happening daily now, we no the time is near but we want to see if possibly another heart med OR TWO will help her heart to function better so my vet is doing a cardiac consultation with a heart Doc who is going to review her case and change her meds around. we are taking her off the sotalol and will be adding in 2 new ones, I am not sure what the names are yet as my vet has not called me back. she is not really to go to the bridge yet she still plays, eats, gets around, never potties in the house and is full of beans and is so happy and loving she wants to run, skip, and play all the time, regardless of her condition. last night she was chasing Tony and just collapsed. UGH.... I think her days are numbered but I want to do all I can for her and see if I can get her pain under better control with a stronger med, and see if I can keep her going with some new heart meds. You see the heart meds will help for awhile and than they stop working when the heart just can't take anymore. she is not ready to go yet as her VPC'S are not that bad during an ECG but there obviously bad enough for her to keep collapsing so we needs new meds to try. she does not faint during these episodes but rather falls to the ground. she is extremely sore from the falls so I am not really letting her outside anymore unless I am RIGHT there and she is on leash now. I don't want her to get hurt on the cement.... I hope I can keep the ol gal going through summer, my dream is to swim with her this summer in my pool and have her float in my raft with me which she likes to do... I just want her for one more summer, as we love to swim together and hang out in the pool and snuggle at night. the past 4 nights she has not been able to get up on the bed with me and that worries me to death as she goes to bed with me every single night and is in her same spot each night. she is just to sore to jump so I know she is in pain. her spine is shot and so are her elbows and knees. you know it sucks to get old and I will not let her suffer. I will no when the time is right to let her go, but its not here yet and I am blessed every day she is with me...

keep the good vibes coming, I am not ready to loose her and she is not ready to go! Do you guys think I am doing the right thing here? I am just feeling that she has life left and can still have a good quality of life if we can get her pain under better control and get her heart issues' semi under control.... I hope i am going the right things for her.
