Well, I like Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar series (cringes. I know, I know! Its a Suedom. But at least the Sueauthors know how to use a spell check, format, and know grammar! Which makes it tons better then many other fandoms! Its still my fandom, don't kill me! and I'm shouting needlessly!)

I'm getting to the Sandman fandom (still small enough that most of the fic is good, at least on FF.net), and Steven Brust has a neat series that I like, although there isn't much in the way of a fandom there. (his fans tend to write scholarly essays on his work, rather then fanfiction; come to think of it, the same thing happens with Sandman).

I like LOTR, and thought about getting into the fandom for awhile, but the netspeak, script form Sues turned me off.

I was in Star Wars for awhile, but quit when they went to the New Jedi Order book series. (I'm sorry, but killing Chewbacca off was just too much for me. Chewie lives!).

I also used to like Anne McCaffery's Pern series, before she tried to retcon too much stuff for the aproved fan RP Weyrs. (I'm sorry, but a het bronzerider whose dragon mates with a green with a male rider (and most greens have male riders) WILL have homosexual sex. He hasn't got a choice in the matter. DON'T do that stupid 'replacement' thing with said bronzerider's girlfriend. It's not about the riders, it's about the dragons. Jaxom is the biggest Gary Stu out there. And damnit! Metorites are NOT that common! And AVAIS, or whatever the hell that thing is called, is NOT god! It's a fucking machine! It does not nessarily know best! And, F'lar and Lessa are not Gods either! Neither is the sainted Master Robinson! And, and! *sputters incoherently*).

Sorry. That used to be such a cool world.
