Subject: Why doesn't UND teach us enroute?

I am just curious why UND does not put any emphisis on enroute training. Sure they overlay areocenter over approach in AVIT 465 and you get little non radar in AVit 468. But most other schools such as ERAU, MCTC, UAA all have been exposed to extensive non radar like you get down at the academy. They did not stop at a GWO departure or VKS which is a non event in OKC. They have been exposed to scenarios that you will get down in OKC. They also get a chance to use the enroute keyboard, enter msgs in the dcrd, have stips printing, like you will have when you get down to the DSR lab in OKC.If you where to ask a UND'r what a 6,7,10 amendment they would have no clue.

I guess my point is why does UND have the best Aircraft Training, Tower Taining, RTF Training but excludes the "real" air traffic control training, Enroute. Some one has to line them up so those tower flowers can land them!

Don't get me wrong, I think UND is a great college. I had no problems in OKC. But through all the Hype you get in GFK I thought I would have an advantage in OKC and found out I was the only one not exposed to most of the enroute material.
