I work at Chicago Center. I'm still training, but I'm 50% certified, so halfway home. I would recommend the enroute option. It's a lot of fun, and the money does come much more quickly than at a small tower. If seeing airplanes is a big deal then obviously go with terminal. But if it doesn't matter if you see the planes, I would recommend enroute. You can see everything at a center than you would at a TRACON: airport control, sequencing, etc. It all depends on if you want to see the planes.
